on Improved management tools for water-limited irrigation : Combining ground and satellite information through models
Institut National de Recherche en Genie
Rural,
Eaux et Forets (INRGREF)
INRGREF is a tunisian public research institution, contributing
to the national policy for research in the field of water,
forest and land management, protection and conservation
of natural resources and to rationalisation of land use.
INRGREF is also responsible for organization and implementation
of research activities in those fields, and valorization
of scientific achievements and transfer of know-how.
These missions are carried through action plans covering
several domains in the water sector including control,
assessment and valorisation of water resources, use of
brackish water, reuse of treated wastewater, crops water
needs, field water management, irrigation and drainage
technologies, water saving cultivation techniques and
micro-meteorology. Other action plans fall within the
soil conservation domain and include impact of agricultural
practices on land changes.
INRGREF will be participating in the project trough experiments
on irrigation from small dams and will assist in the definition
of irrigation and water uses changes (WP5).
